Poetry With Purpose is more than a poetry night. It’s a gathering of survivors, artists, and allies using creativity to spark connection and advocate for change. Expect powerful spoken word, open-mic moments, haiku battles, and a community that believes no one should have to heal alone.

Come to listen. Come to witness. Come to be part of it.

Why We Do This

HAVEN serves survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking across Stanislaus County. We provide shelter, counseling, legal support, and education. But art offers something services alone can’t: a way to reclaim voice, visibility, and power.
